In 2023, New Rising Sun and Third Stone took over production of Seattle’s historic music and arts festival, Bumbershoot. The mission was to revitalize this 50+ year running festival, returning to the magic of grassroots creativity and community through music and local arts.

Celebrating creators and innovators of all kinds, Bumbershoot amplifies the Pacific Northwest’s unique culture, championing a more inclusive arts community and betting on the dreamers, makers and performers who call the region home.

Fathom joined the visual arts team to produce the first ever Fashion District, now three years strong! The district showcases the PNW’s diverse design & performance community through runway programming and the vendor marketplace.

In the last three years, guests have been awed by 20+ choreographed runway collections by local fashion designers that are equal parts fashion, art, and performance. Our vendor marketplace has hosted over 50 local makers, beauticians, and stylists offering festival guests the opportunity to transform & enjoy their Bumbershoot experience to the fullest.

Fathom has curated and collaborated with designers and makers to bring the Fashion District to full effect, taking on full management of the district in 2025. From creating the calls for show concepts, helping to plan show details, liasoning between the broader Bumbershoot festival teams and our talent & vendors, to all that good ol backend paperWORK, Fathom handles every detail with the help of a wonderful team. 

In 2025, we also introduced our first music artist, Cain Culto, on our stage to close each night of the festival. In doing so, we were able to build out our stage infrastructure, enabling more advanced audio and visual amenities for all of our runway teams. This included a robust sound system and LED video wall, with dedicated audio and video technicians. What resulted was our best year yet, with bigger dreams for the future! 

In 2024, Fathom also took on production and hospitality of the Artist Compound, 34,000 feet of open space converted into cozy artist dressing rooms and lounges, with ample amenities and clever activations. Each day 70 bands shared this space, enjoying time to chill and refresh.
